Viventura is Germany's leading tour operator for South America. The operational headquarters are in La Paz, Bolivia, while the headquarters of Ventura TRAVEL is in Berlin. Both La Paz and Berlin are home to our Viventura staff. Since our employees are our most valuable asset, we do a lot to make them feel comfortable. You can see this, for example, in the fact that we allow our employees to work from other offices. We also travel to a different country once a year to work together on projects and day-to-day issues if company goals are met. Depending on the office, regular team events and social days, massages, exercise classes, and high-quality equipped workstations. Our company language is English. For this reason, all job postings are in English. If you don't find a job opening for you here, you have two options: Either you can visit our Ventura career site, where you will find all jobs published by Ventura and its brands. We at Indico Travels have traveled far and wide solo, and believe that solo travel can be the most exciting and rewarding experience in the world. When you travel solo, you're open to connecting, and you push your own boundaries in order to explore somewhere new. That's brilliant! 

We believe everyone should feel empowered to go on their dream trip, regardless whether their friends or partner can join them. Indico Travels tours give you the opportunity to mix the benefits of solo travel with the company, comfort and security that comes with going on a group trip. Get to know new people and potential future travel buddies while you explore the world with like-minded people!

Sina is the founder of Indico Travels. Having lived in a total of five countries in Europe and South America, she is a huge fan of diving into new cultures and connecting with locals. She has traveled to nearly all continents by herself, including traveling to the "End of the World" in southernmost Argentina. As a solo travel expert, Sina loves to share tips and encourage others to set out on their own adventure. Sometimes, though, she did wish she could travel with others over 30 (which are not so easily found in youth hostels!). That's why she decided to make her passion for travel her profession, and created Indico Travels, with the aim of bringing solo travelers like her together to go on unforgettable group adventures. 

Every element of our trips is designed to maximize your experience as a 30-45 year-old solo traveler. For example when you stay in a city, we'll pick hotels that are within safe walking distance to local bars. We also know you are on a break from a busy work schedule, so we make sure to give you some time out where you decide yourself whether you want to take part in optional activities or put your feet up. 

Our trips always include a range of experiences - from getting muddy to enjoying infinity pools, from learning about the country's history to sampling the local liquor, as we believe variety makes for the most memorable vacation. We'll always introduce you to locals to get to know the country through their eyes, in a way you perhaps couldn't when traveling solo. For example in Lisbon, we are invited by local friends for a rooftop dinner at their house, or in Sri Lanka we stay in a remote village overnight. 

Traveling responsibly is very important to us - which is why we do the research and planning needed to make the trip fair for the environment, animals and local communities, so that you can travel with a good conscience. We compensate the CO2 emissions of our trips - including your international flights - and stick to certain rules we have set ourselves, for example not taking internal flights if the route could be completed by a different mode of transport within 6 hours. Discovering the world shouldn't damage it. That’s why your trips with Indico Travels adhere to specific sustainability guidelines we set ourselves. Susana, our CSR responsible, gives you more details in this video.

CO2 emissions for your entire trip (hotel, excursions, etc.) are compensated by an international Gold Standard project. We have also decided to offset the CO2 emissions for your arrival and departure flights, even if these are not booked through us. Since our travelers come from all over the world and the individual calculation would be complicated, we compensate for a return flight from Frankfurt am Main, Germany, for each traveler. The climate protection project in Chile that we support has been tested and certified by the German inspection authority TÜV-Nord. At the Santa Marta landfill south of Santiago de Chile, gases from the waste are used to generate environmentally friendly energy. This saves around 348,000 tons of CO2 per year.

Our parent company Ventura TRAVEL founded the VSocial Foundation in 2005. The vision of this foundation is to bring about positive change in the communities we support by encouraging people to benefit from sustainable tourism. The aim is to strengthen communities, to preserve their cultural richness and to accompany them on their way to self-administration. Ventura TRAVEL supports the VSocial Foundation with more than €120,000 every year. On Indico Travels' Colombia trip, for example, you'll visit a VSocial project on the Street Art Tour through Medellín's Comuna 13.

We strive for sustainability in our travel planning. For example, we avoid domestic flights during our travels - we only take them if the alternative route would take more than 6 hours. Additionally, where possible, we choose local-run accommodations to keep our expenditure within the country. We pay particular attention to animal welfare and don't engage in activities that could stress animals. For example, we avoid taking part in elephant bathing, as the animals have to be dominated by their handlers for this. And where possible, we take other sustainable options  -  for example on our Vietnam & Cambodia trip, you can always fill your own water bottle with clean drinking water from a canister.

Your trip is built with sustainability in mind

Respect for human rights in tourism is a major concern. As an active member of the Round Table on Human Rights in Tourism for many years, we verify that for all our trips, our partners respect the legal provisions in terms of wages and employment, especially for young people. We also support the "Don't look away" campaign, which aims to protect children in their vacation destinations from sexual abuse and exploitation.

Viventura, the South American specialist of Ventura TRAVEL, is the proud winner of the sustainability award Fairwärts with its trip "viActive Ecuador Galapagos". The trip was awarded as an innovative and sustainable travel offer, focusing on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Agenda 2030. The award is organized by the non-profit organization kate Environment & Development in cooperation with Tourcert. The project is supported by Engagement Global on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

As a sustainable tour operator, we are certified by Tourcert and undergo a detailed review of all business areas every 2 years. TourCert gGmbH is a non-profit organization for certifications in tourism and has set itself the task of promoting ecological, social and economic corporate responsibility in tourism.

The Forum Anders Reisen e.V. (forum for a different type of travel) is an association of travel companies that are committed to sustainable tourism. The travel experiences offered by their members focus on people and the environment, use local resources carefully and treat other cultures with respect.
